Featuring approximately 100 juried exhibitors from Maine and the Northeast exhibiting fine craft in the following media categories: baskets, ceramics, fiber-decorative, fiber-wearables, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, printmaking, stone and wood, as well as outreach booths featuring New England and Portland arts organizations, international artists new to Maine, guilds and schools by special invitation, and several sponsor booths. The Portland Fine Craft Show remains one of the only Maine craft shows open to artists not living in Maine, and has a reputation for being well-organized and high quality, with high attendance.
South Portland's annual Art in the Park Show & Sale is a summer favorite of participating artists and the public. Held on the second Saturday in August in beautiful Mill Creek Park, the show features original art and photography by up to 170 artists, a food court, and music in the afternoon. Admission is free. The show opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m.
The Running With Scissors Art Studios Steamy Summer Print Jam and Block Party is happening in the East Bayside neighborhood of Portland, Maine on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 10am - 5pm! Watch Running With Scissors (RWS) print oversized blocks measuring 4x4' - 4x8' carved by local artists and print groups using a three-ton asphalt roller. There will be music, family-friendly activities, food and beverage, and art for sale in their parking lot at 250 Anderson Street in Portland, Maine. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available on Anderson Street, Marginal Way, and the nearby commuter lot. Support the local community and stroll the neighboring East Bayside businesses hosting their own art-focused activities that day.
A favorite part of the festival, our juried craft show has a fine selection of jewelry, clothing, collectibles, pottery, wood carvings, and other handcrafted items created by over 130 artisans for every price range.
The Festival’s jury consists of a panel of independent experts in various categories of arts and crafts. The jury selects crafters based on the following criteria: authenticity of handcrafted workmanship, originality and individuality, design excellence, executional skill, attention to detail, and professionalism in presentation.
